HP 915 heads - ready to run
« on: October 21, 2010 - 08:04:51 PM »
The engine I bought from Al came with HP 915 heads that are very mint but will put me WAY over on the compression I think I want to maintain.

Look great with 2.14 / 1.81 valves
new valve guides
Block mounting surface has been cut .010" for flatness
intake side cut .015"

I know a ton went in these that I have not even mentioned, they have not even been run on since rebuild.

So, what do you guys think these heads should be worth?
Thanks in advance.

They also have new 214/181 valves , new locks , dual springs with a damper, new freeze plugs. HP is stamped right on the alternator boss's, and came off a 67 RT or GTX, I think he said RT.  I put over 950 bucks in these heads including the purchase of them of 280 bucks, machine shop work and cost of parts.  Someone will get a good deal I'm sure. :2thumbs:  I also know it's hard to get all the cost back out with the cost of aluminum heads now a day. The springs will hold 600 lift flat tappet solid cams.

Hope this helps Jeff out.

Unfotuneately that's very true.

Just as a guide I picked up my 915 heads acid tanked, crack tested, new guides, surfaced, and new 181/214 stailess valves.
No springs, retainers or collets and no porting.

I paid $450 for them but that's in Australia so make of it what you will.
Burnouts are cool but Traction is the Action
