Painting a chromed bummper

I am think about paint my front bummer, until I can get it re-chromed when I paint my car.

Has anyone done this before?  I think that if I sand it real well with with some 320 grit, then hit it with self etching primer, primer filler and then hit it with some flat black it should turn out well.

Any advise?

320 won't do anything , you need to sand it with 80, but I'd blast it and get some epoxy over it

1. If you blast that bumper or sand it with 80 grit then it will probably cost you more to have it rechromed because it will require more labor to get it smoothed out
2. I think you should just leave the car flat black, it looks bad a$$

I like the car flat black as well.  i am going to be restoring the grille and stuff over the next couple of months, and I wanted to see what the front would look like with a painted bummper and thought this might be a good time to check it out.

Just to check out the look, don't bother sanding and just hit it with a spray bomb. If you don't like it, rub it with a little thinner and you back to chrome. If you do like it, whack it with the 80 and epoxy prime then some real paint. Worst case it only cost you $6 for a rattle can of paint.
