i found a hemi cuda.......

Everything from the story that originally informed me about the car matched up. He was the son of someone who owned a body shop, and he did mention having to take some stuff off his challenger to put back on the cuda (in the original story i was told that the guy did a dash swap and had the hemi cuda dash in his challenger) what i figure is that he actually is the owner of the car and that he still has it but doesnt want anyone to know that he does

Thats exactly what i was thinking.knows what he has and doesn't want to deal with people asking about the car.even if he didn't want to sell it,it would have been awesome to get some pictures of it.

I'd have to say this ended up about where I thought it would.  I agree the guy seems to be too knowledgeable about it all to unload a Hemi shell for $2k. I also agree it may be a smokescreen. You are in an area that will not take too kindly to a stranger poking around looking to score an old car, even if you say your looking for a project for yourself and you tell them you have a classic. Anyone can tell a story and its too easy to fake it, so unless you roll up in your Challenger, to them your just another outsider trying to score. You might have an easier time trying to ask out their daughters than scoring their cars.

BTW, sorry to hear about loosing the job. That sucks, but if they are that willing to kick you to the curb, you probably wouldn't have wanted to work there too long anyway.

The "horse people" I dealt with were in northern Virginia, the very wealthy folks who used to go out of the weekends dressed in white tights with red jackets sicking their hounds on the foxes  Maybe one day I'll get to interact with some cowboy-type horse people.

 Yea, there is a big difference in that rich type compared to US rednecks in the Midwest/Southern folk who actually ride in the back woods.

I`ve been shoeing horses for a living till 10 years ago.  There are many different kinds of horse people... but in the end ,they are pretty much one kind.....
I hope you will find another job soon.
