OK,

Been toying with the idea of selling my Challenger project because I really wanted a Cuda when I bought it and it doesn't look like I'll get to finishing it anyway.  Here's what I have and what I think it's worth, what do you guys think ?  Am I way off or is it a decent deal for someone ?

For Sale
1974 Dodge Challenger ran before disassembly.
Rolling with drivetrain intact, Dash pad in, doors, hood, fenders, deck lid removed.
360 Automatic
Ralleye Hood
Ralleye Wheels
Black interior
Front seats need covers, pads good.
Rear seat good, covers good.
Black console, good shape.
Dash pad cracked
Standard gauges.
Rust on firewall,  Hinge mounts, lower door panels,  rear quarters, trunk, drivers front floor ( normal places )
Included are patch panels for hinges, rear quarters, 2 doors ( one very nice, one needs a few dents taken out, no rust),
$2,500.00


Extras:
440 (1974) disassembled,
new flat top pistons 
2 sets 906 heads
extra forged crank as well as cast crank
Sure Grip rear (center chunk with highway gears )
Ralleye cluster with 8 grand tach.
Seat covers (new, black)
Big block motor mounts
$1500

Car and extras:  $3500

That sounds like a good price. I think you were considering selling it last winter right?  does it have a build sheet, fender tag and is it the original engine?

Al,

Yep was considering it last year, decided this year.  No build sheet, believe me I've looked.  It's a numbers matching car, as far as I've been able to tell, but will check closely if it matters to anyone.  I have the fender tag, removed it and put it in a safe dry place when I first bought the car.  It is together enough, that with a little packing, it can be trailered.

This is one of those posts that makes me feel two very distinct things (okay, three).

Great price!
Why am I so cash poor?
How badly would I be murdered if I could somehow buy this as yet another project?

Good luck and think really hard about this. It may seem like a great deal of work and money, may not be exactly the car you wanted but in the end, you bought this with good intentions. Don't do something you might regret later on. I'm sure you've discovered how time and cash consuming finding everything can be.

I would say at those prices you shouldn't have any trouble finding a buyer(s).

If you are refering to the wife, she won't murder you but probably get you close enough to deathwithout killing you then make you suffer slowly for the rest of your life or until you sell the car...  :2cents:  :crying:  :roflsmiley:

P.G.--Sounds like a very fair price.  Hope you find a Cuda.  :thumbsup:

Rallye? (I'm guessing no, since it has std. guages)
Color?

It's not a Rallye car, but it is a real 360, L - E58 (360 HP) on the fender tag.  Supposedly they made it with all the Rallye options except the side scoops, stripes, instruments and insurance rates.  Never been able to verify that, but I've heard it more than once.

just the e58 code is a big plus for your car. They put them in lil reds to hope you get some nibbles soon

If it's anything like the '72 Challengers, once you order the 340 (Or 360 in your case.) you automatically get the performance hood, dual exhaust and dual chrome exhaust tips.

I couldn't find a '74 catalog.  :-[  The A57 code would get you the Rallye options that you had previously mentioned. All the '73 and '74 cars were "JH" cars, no "JS" so you can't go with the VIN #, fender tag or build sheet.  '72 was the only year for the JS Rallye cars.

Like Alan said, the E58 code in the VIN is real good.

You did not automatically get a Rallye hood with a 340 or 360 in 73 or 74.

Rallyes all had the A57 code, 72, 73 & 74.

The A57 code only applied to '73 and '74 as Rallye became an option group for those years.  '72 used the JS designation as it was the last year it was offered as a separate model.
