Temp control cable routing on heater box
« on: October 30, 2010 - 06:26:08 PM »
Does anyone have pic of the temp cable on the heater box?
I reinstalled my heater box today and the cable that operates the heater core door is either missing something or installed wrong. I'm sure it worked before I took it out of the car. The way it is now there is no way it can pivot the door from where it is. Is there an arm or something that goes on the pivot of the door? AHHHHHHRR frustrating.

Thanks,
Brian

Thanks Topcat,

I was hoping for a look at the top of the airbox where all the pivots are located. I'm sorta thinking my heat door was installed wrong from the factory. Is that possible? Its indexed wrong for the cable to function properly.

Thats perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks burdar, it confirms what I suspected. Either the air box has been opened by a pervious owner and the door installed improperly or it was wrong from the factory.

Thanks again,
Brian

When I got mine back from getting rebuilt I had the same problem. They put the door in wrong and the cable would not open it.

Thanks. I am quite calm now. This site is good for that.
