Anybody got any suggestions for a headliner adhesive?   I tried 3M super trim adhesive and not holding so good.

I used standard contact cement .  Applied glue to both surfaces wait 1/2 hour then pushed them together. All of the headliner is held in place with the alligator teeth at the front/rear windows and by those small edge clips along the sides so glue is not that important except to hold everything  in place until you get everything together.

Thanks for the response.  I tried the 3M adhesive again after cleaning real good for a second time with wax and grease remover.  Left 50 spring clamps all around the openings for the night and it looks great.   Anyone who says it is a nightmare doing a headliner needs to slow down and take their time its not that bad.   Biggest help is having the windshield and back window out.  Dont know how you would do it right with them in.  I was going to pay to have it done but was quoted $300.  After doing the math i figured at that price i could screw it up and throw it out 6 times at $55 a pop for the headliner(thanks to Dave for the great deal)

Thanks Lime73 .... that is encouraging.   I felt the same way.   I was quoted $300 and thought,  how hard can it be if you take your time and read all the posts that various guys have provided?    I am trying mine this afternoon.   Since the headliner has to go in before the other interior parts, I am stalled with my resto.   If I can get the headline in to my satisfaction we will be back on a roll.

Cheers ..... CHAPS
