Do manual transmission cars have different starter relay's???

Not that I'm aware of. They ground differently though. The auto ground through the NSS, the Manual cars through the switch on the clutch pedal.

up to 69 the starter relay grounded to the case of the relay , in 70 they moved the ground to the clutch pedal

So I take it I need the mechanism that goes on the clutch pedal??? I'm not sure what it's called.

I wasn't willing to pay that kind of $ either. My starter relay is just grounded - always.

I don't like the idea of having my foot on the clutch when starting a car, make sure it is in neutral first, that is the way I was taught, less wear on clutch throw out bearing, they get noisy quick enough as it is.   :bigsmile:

just make a pigtail from the spade terminal on the relay out to the body , the mounting screws will usually work fine
