Another wiring question
« on: October 31, 2010 - 11:07:36 PM »
I changed my car to electronic ignition with the 4 post ballost resistor.  My car has a two post resisitor mounted on the wiper motor.  The engine harness had connectors for a 2 post resistor as does the wiper harness.  Why the resistor on the wiper motor?  I also have a wire coming from the firewall box that has been cut.  It is a black wire next to a red wire in the center block.  It looks to me from the diagram that it is the brake warning light wire.  where does it go?  Thanks guys, Danny  (I am learning about this wiring stuff, slowly but surely)

The brake warning wire goes to the brake metering valve. Let me know if you need a pic.  I can get one tomorrow.

well the wiper motor has a resistor to reduce power for a slower speed on the wiper motor
any newer ECU for the electronic ign has a 4 pin plug on the EcU so you do not need a dual ballast resistor

Yes a picture of the brake metering valve would be great.  Thanks, Danny

Here it is, on the drivers side inner fender, roughly below the master cylinder.
