Question 73 Challenger Front to Rear Fuel Lines
« on: November 01, 2010 - 01:06:29 PM »
Can anyone tell me how many different size fuel lines came on a 73 Challenger? Does engine size or Carb size determine what size the fuel and vapor return lines are? I bought a sending unit that has a 5/16 outlet. I assume that makes my front to rear fuel line a 5/16. But the place where I am ordering my fuel line wants to know what size my vapor return line is, which I am not sure of. I'm thinking that it is a two piece 1/4 inch. Can anyone verify this. I don't want to get the wrong size fuel line and end up having a fuel restriction. Any Help would be appreciated.

Only one feed line size in 73 since the big blocks were gone.  The main feed line is 5/16" and the vent is 1/4".

I don't think the front vapor line is repopped.  Mine cleaned up really nice with a coarse scotchbrite pad and fine steel wool.

Do you have a picture of the front vapor line? The gentleman that I ordered it from says that it comes in two pieces. I think that I threw mine away. It would be appreciated If you had or anybody had a picture of it.

Here are two pics I have but they don't show the line very good.  If you still need them, I'll take a pic of my car tonight.  That line in the engine compartment is the only fuel line I have installed right now so you can see it very well.

The line in question, attaches to the center port of the charcole canister.

you can get to approx 12.0 in the 1/4 on a 5/16 fuel line line
I would go to a 3/8 or bigger for anything over 500 HP
