Read over your posts and not to beat a dead horse but yeah, its my fault. My excitement at finding one got the better of my common sense. Basically it went down like this, I thought I had researched the car enough to start calling around. When I called this guy the conversation got away from me and I ended up showing my cards and he jumped on it. I didn't correct him right off the bat, and at the time I still thought this was simply the price that these things were going for. I didn't realize til later the huge descrepancy between real 71 cudas in price. At the time I thought a fixer upper was the only way I could afford getting into the game. Anyway, things got away from me. I didn't follow my own plan on having people here check out the car. The seller wanted the deal done quick and I complied. Looking back I'm sure he knew he had a sucker on the line but whatever, its done. At the time I knew restoring a car was pricey. I'm up to 22k on my current truck resto but the realization that I've been taken for sucha huge ride on this one has kind of crippled my desire to sink more money into it.Plus the ammount of personal time and work that this will take. Its better for me to cut my losses and just start saving again. In talking with the seller in the past, this was his only cuda. He had several other cars but rather than learning the guys name, I'd rather people learn from the experience and really check things out better than I did. It will accomplish the same goal of not getting ripped off on a car. I'll PM the people that showed interest in buying the car. Thanks again.
