Strut tower brace.
« on: November 14, 2010 - 01:48:19 PM »
Anyone else bit the bullet yet on a strut tower brace?

I know I asked you about it hpe600rt. I really like the look, although I swore I wasn't going to get into the engine bay dress up stuff.    :misbehaving:

This isn't the Mopar version, but something Yates Performance has out. It has 4 Military grade pins that can be taken out, so you can easily remove the bar if it is in the way of working on the car. Thankfully the pins are connected to lanyards, so fumble fingers me can't lose them.   :grinyes:  The bar bolts to the upper frame behind the engine bay. It makes the car feel like it is on rails. It's hard to believe such little body lean from a car this size.     :2thumbs:

Oh here we go...... next will be a neon light kit and dingo balls! :smilielol:

:smilielol: Just kidding Mike!  I'll bet it does stiffen things up! Die Cast aluminum? Does it have a clear coat on it? I ask as over time it will corrode some? Maybe paint it now? I often use black BBQ paint on aluminum parts with good results.

Brad,

It doesn't have any clear coat on it.   Thanks for bringing that up. I don't want it to turn to crud like the intake manifold on my old car.    :22yikes:
