How long do you figure it would take to load up a page with 5 2M pic files if you have dial up?  Plus, these images have to be held somewhere, unless you use a host site.

Here's another Microsoft version that is always free:

Look for the imageresizer.exe file towards the bottom of the page on the right side.

A fair amount of people still have dial up. I have a really fast internet speed from ATT U-verse and I still resize all my pictures before I post them, plus people like me take pictures that are over 3000 pixels wide and who wants to view that online? I downloaded an image resizer for free (can't remember from where, I can find out though) and it allows me to resize entire folders which is awesome, saves me so much time. I just select the folder, then determine what size I want them resized to and whether or not to keep the originals and off it goes.

A buddy of mine near Fredericksburg, VA can't get broadband. Except through Hughesnet, which only gives you fast downloads, not fast uploads, and the last time we looked into it would cost several hundred dollars a month.

My parents are on Hughesnet as there is no broadband where they are it is almost as bad as dialup, and costs crazy money, not only for the montly service, but for the equipment as well. I think they had to spend close to $500 for the dish, modem and install.
