when useing the dana 60 you are actually going for the beefier center section. It is far superior over the 8 3/4 in strenght. and the reason for aftermarket axles is they are stronger and made with a better material. The tubes isn't so much the hard part to weld up, it is the truness of the bearing races that dictate how long your axles and bearings will last. If they are off at all, the bearing will not last for any long term periods and fail. You won't hear it, or feel it, untill the damage is done. If you are wanting a stronger pinion snubber install on your dana, here is what the kit looks like, that makes it a clean install. Useing 1 inch bar stock, cutting them on the correct angle , then drill and tapping them for the correct bolts. This is a doc dif kit. It can be migged right on. Remeber, if you use stock 8 3/4 axles and your car is into 3400 lbs and up, you chance breaking the axle, or twisting the spline, once you start adding big block tq and hooking the car up.
