    Does any one know what cuda's got a 7,000 rpm tach. & what one's got the 8,000 rpm tach. Is the hemi's the only one's that got the 8,000. i have a 72 340 4 speed what tach would go with my car. thank's.

    This has been debated before, and the best I can tell you yours should have had a 7K tach. The ones that got 8K tachs were leftovers from 70-71. So 8k is a 70-71 thing.

    Well my 70 r/t 383 four speed has the 8k tach and it was definitely the original unit. I am told the r/t's had the 8k tach but I do not know if they were specific for certain years.
