Procar/Jegs seats
« on: December 26, 2010 - 08:18:31 PM »
I was thinking of installing either the Procar

http://www.jegs.com/i/Scat/942/80-1610-51L/10002/-1

or the Jegs

http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/70240/10002/-1

seats in my car this winter. Anybody have any experience good or bad with these seats?

I have two sets. Like the jegs ones. Not sure on the procar.I heard most of these are all made at the same place. The ones in the Cuda are holding up fairly well. They were cost effective quick replacements.Needed badly. The newer ones in my duster lasted about ten minutes before the fold down mech. Blew up. And they get hard to adjust. But for the cost,They last about 5 yrs. The added support in the turns really helps.  I havnt put a hole in one yet fwiw. Lots of people comment on them...the grain is a good match. Oh,Had to use the old seat tracks.Drill a few holes...

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll order them. Any interior pics of your 'Cuda on the site?

The added support in the turns really helps.

That's the main reason for thinking about them. The original seats aren't very effective at keeping you in place when you turn hard.

Please post some info on the install.  How much fab work to get the tracks to match up.  Do you end up sitting higher or lower?  How much frt to back adjustment is there?

Thx

I only had to drill one hole in each track (factory) think it was the back one.I am 6'3" tall and need the room.with the floor so different in shape the factory rails made it much easier.I think they are about 1" narrower. And I had to re-drill the two holes closest to the hump. The hardest part is getting them down the right holes.I've had them out/in more than a few times. In the duster I welded small pieces of tubing to the floor,Then trimmed to fit.Ran a bolt right through. It worked great!Just a small slit in the carpet,Looks very clean. For the money they hold up. The first set had only one seat that folded.Make sure if there is only one...that it goes on the pass. side.IMO. Seat heaters are my next thought.Would be a super easy install.  I'll find some pics...
