:-/   Does anyone know the formula for determining the gear ratio on a 8 3/4 rear end?  I remember something about counting the spline against the pinion's teeth, but I'm not sure.    I want to make sure the previous owner didn't swap out my gear.  He said I have 3.91's, but I have my doubts.

you take the number of teeth on the ring gear and the number of teeth of the pinion and  divide them.

The #s should be stamped into the ring gear as well if you look close
