need HELP on my B5 blue interior question
« on: November 22, 2004 - 11:09:59 PM »
I am currently restoring my B5 blue AAR Cuda (#'s matching 340 6-pk w/ 4-speed).I have blue interior that at some point in time was painted a weird blue color, so I do not know what the factory blue realy looks like.  I ordered a complete set of door panels from Legendary, and the kick panels from Year One.  They both arrive, and the kick panels look almost the exact same color as the original seat color..the door panels however are a lighter blue color.they look great, but are lighter then the seats..is this how it is supposed to be?I called legendary to ask if there are different blues for Cudas, and they said no, that what I have is correct (D338 paint)..I'm not a Mopar expert, so I do not know exactly what to go with...it looks like both items were painted these colors, and I want this car to be 100% correct when finished.  Maybe when installed it all works .but looking at it laying on the floor it looks weird..Any comments or answers would be appreciated...also where do I get the paint to do the inside trim pieces (around the windows, etc.) is this just mixed or can you buy it pre-mixed?...Thanks in advance.

Thanks! It's a real complete car, very solid (except for the trunk, and lower qtr's) and has 54k miles...I found it out in Indiana 6 months ago!  I will post more pics shortly...

The interior panels should be very close to the seat color int he B5 cars I have seen , not usre who will mix a vinyl dye in the color you need though

Hello AARudy, welcome abaord!! Nice Cuda mate.

That is the way it is suppose to be, I had B5-Blue interior in my Challenger (converting to black) but only because B5-Blue interior with a White exterior didn't tickle my fancy. The B5-Blue or any color including black have minor variations bwtween items.

I'm planning on taking my New Yearone Dash and using that color to re-dye the door panels and console.
Then leaving the seats as new Black (Yearone) whcih basically leaves the carpet, mats and headlinner to be the same.

So there are usally 3 or 4 variations of the one color.

Hope this helped some what.

Cheers,
Carl
