Any horror stories with the Mopar Crate Hemi Engines, or is it luck of the draw?

What Warranty if any comes with them?

These are the kindof leads I am after.  I am new to the Classic car loop, and need to learn my local (WI) options.

I liked Ray Bartons stuff, but I now know there are local options for me and my new toy.

If you need a CRF450 tuner/motor builder, or a Harley guy, I know where to go and who to see.  As far as this Hemi goes, I'm learning as I go, with help from you guys!!

Thanks much!

What's your plans on the valvetrain?
Solid of hydraulic? Roller or lifter?

If you go roller cam, then you'll have to get the block notched. However, Ray Barton has a relocated lifter/rocker set up on his heads that I believe eliminates that to be done. Additionally, it straightens push rod angles in a more favorable manner.

Another thing to keep in mind is that when you buy a stroker crank, make sure you request to have the crank journals spec'd to Big Block chevy. What this does is it eliminates the need to notch the skirts of the piston bores. That means the rods clear without any interference is the benefit.

Oldschool and I are running solid lifter set ups. You'll feel more top end power but you do have to adjust valves for a bit for the first 3,000 miles.

And don't forget to buy the cups.
they keep oil back from draining into the combustion chamber when you pull the plugs/tubes.

I bought these from Rick Cassel.

:thinkerg: Central wi,well good ol biggs might chime in here as he has a 70 hemi chally and lives in the milwaulee area.he may have a lead or two.
A buddy of mine has used muscle motors for a few 440 builds. And hes been happy with them. The closest to me is Kilpatricks... and they race what they've built. Also silver lake, a little ways south of me.
70 Chally R/T Convertible- Yes she's really got a HEMI, no she's not a Charger!
