Matt, most of that ****e was done by either bending tubing or sheet metal and was usually brazed on and mudded up to smooth it. Take a grinder and carefully lay into it about 3/4" away from the face of the panel and see where it takes you. Wear a mask, because it'll probably be ugly. If you hit the tubing or cut through the sheet metal you should be able to see what lies underneath. If it was brazed on, and you're careful with a concentrated torch, you can brush off most of the brass and using vice-grips, heat and pull it off. You might win the lottery and find the "craftsman" who installed it, pop riveted it on. Good luck

Since there is currently a wave of '70's modified car nostalgia sweeping the country you could keep and enjoy it, as is, without fear. Just as the street rodders have been going ape over "patina" [even faking it]; there are a lot of dusty muscle cars, with flared wheelwells, aluminum slots, panel paint jobs etc., that are getting washed off to become reborn sensations. Enjoy it!

I am an old fart, I remember my buddies putting flares on their cars-one was a 70 Charger 440-6pak, another was a 70 Dart-these were done ~1975.

I still have a weakness for the aluminum slots if you don't want to keep them....

Ok, I'll be different: I like the fender flares and slotted rims!!!!!!    I'm sort of stuck in the 70's.

In fact I have a set of slotted rims I'll be putting on once I work them over a little.  I like the stock look but the custom "back in the day" look is very cool too.  Wheels and such that can be unbolted is easier to change back to stock but the flares are an issue. 

The tires look a tad not wide enough.  If it were my car, I would move the rears up front if they fit then get wider tires/rims to come out to the edge of the rear flares.  Then toss on a Challenger T/A hood to be a little differeent. 

BTW Matt, would you be able to tell me what size tires/rims you have front/rear?

Thanks for the advice everyone,
I do like the slots but I like rallyes and mag 500s more, just personnal perference I guess. I'll have them on the site when I switch out

The color is not original, it was FF4 green on green on green. Have to say I really like the yellow, didn't at first but it has grown on me.

The tire sizes are front-205/70R14  rear-245/60R14 

Right now I'm working on the drivers fender and needing a passengers if anyone has one (I'm in Colorado). Thanks again,  Matt
