Pic request: Interior Wiring Harness Clips
« on: January 09, 2011 - 10:53:32 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm Installing my wiring harness that goes from the dash to the rear lights, etc.

I am looking to get some pics of the clips that hold it down, and also the hole for the wire that goes through the body down to the gas tank.

Due to the amount of reconstruction that had to take place, some of these details were lost.

Thanks.

I have my 70 Challenger mostly blown apart and can take some pics for you. It has not yet been worked on so everything is original.

I do not know if a 73 Plymouth is going to be identical or not so let me know if you want them.

I will do that for you today and get the pics posted. I had the same problem with sending unit wire on my super bee when I changed the trunk floor.

I am thinking they will be the same or very similar. As far as the other clip points, I can only assume they will be in the same locations but who knows. I'll try to get a measuring tape in there for the exact location of sending wire. Is that what you needed on the other spots too?

Heres a few photos so let me know what else you need. On mine, you can clearly see where the send unit wire goes so hopefully your new floor pan has the same indentation.

Are all your clips gone and your trying to determine exact locations?

thanks man, you are the dude!

All of my clips in the trunk and on the wheel well inside the car are still intact

the location in question is on the floor next to the driver seat, and right where the rear wheel well meets the floor..

I know a sheild goes in there somewhere, but i thought a few metal clips do too...

Sweet ride you have. Your body guy did really nice work. I'm gonna copy and paste a few of those pics you posted for my own reference when I start mine.

I see you have the same indentation in the trunk floor so that should be easy.

There is a thin metal shield shot welded to the floor pan. It looks as though the wire just lays in there. Tried to get close ups of the metal tabs I saw inside but I think those are actually part of the shield where is was tacked in. There is one clip/ta at the front edge to keep the wire from hitting the sharp edge I guess. Didn't see it at the back and as far as I can tell, I am the first to have opened this area up on my car.
