Having trouble finding a convertible part
« on: February 25, 2012 - 08:23:08 PM »
Does anyone know where I could find the clips that keep the top from bouncing up and down(when the top is stowed in the well).  There are 2 clips, one on each side that have a small "C"shaped lip that catches on the edge of the roof frame and holds the top down.  I have rigged up some metal strapping and bent it to resemble the old clips, but would like to have the correct ones.  Have looked in catalogs like Year One, etc but have had no luck.

Thanks
Mike

You might try "R/T Specialties" if you haven't looked there already. They carry ALOT of hardware, fasteners, clips. Just google them

Pretty sure this is what you are looking for. If it's not a top to bottom resto you are after, maybe you could just gen some up. These are a bit spendy.

Cuda 413, that is exactly what I was needing.  I have all the metal in the picture, but the white plastic "hooks" on mine are all disintegrated.  But since mine is not going to be concourse, I will stick with the ones I fabricated.  Thanks for everybodies replies!

Note that the ebay seller in that auction is VERY spendy. He comes up with very nice parts but charges an arm and a leg for them.

Just saying that I wouldn't consider that price to be an accurate representation of what that part should go for.

For that price I would have the clips made out of white delrin on a cnc machine.

I need to see if that is something I am also missing.

    :iagree:

He apparently has connections to an old dealership's inventory. He has nice things, but charges many times the price.
