is it structurally safe to move the car around without all that sheet metal as long as the weight of the engine and suspension are gone?


Inner aprons, I don't think should be a problem removed. Radiator support, JIC, you could tack weld a cross support on the front. Cuz if you are getting it towed onto a flat bed tow truck, they got something to grab onto to winch it onto the bed that way.

I was planning to use this tool. It bolts in place of your kframe and has a mounting point for pulling it onto a trailer as well as mounting points in the corners for tie downs. They also make a cool tool wich mounts where the front bumper brackets go so you can use you engine hoist to lift the car off the kframe assembly.

You could probably make a close replica of that yourself if you wanted. Who sells those and how much are they?

Made by Dutch Brothers Fabrications. I found them at the Mopar show in so cal a few years ago. They were showing off their front end lift attachment and it was all the rage at the time.

He offered all three sets for about 750 if you bought them all at once. I could probably make that but I don't mind paying that price to save the trouble. Im gonna get them and when Im done, I can loan them to friends or sell them later to recover some of the money.

2 things for Stephan- I got my licence in 1974 with an interprovincial rating and also happened to win the plaque for best student at trade school. I worked at a Chevy store, at a Ford store and all the while was a Mopar guy. I'm too dumb to get out of the racket and still fix cars to this day. I'll take you a few shots of my Challenger as it's coming together and hopefully, that'll provide sufficient bona fides for me to give my opinion without, as TC says, getting into a urination contest with you. What is your background, just for fun?
To beekpr- it cost me $1000 to get mine media blasted and epoxy primed and I stripped the car, including engine/trans but left the Kframe and diff in it to keep it rolling. Good luck!
