440 radiator

Stock from the factory, BB with power steering. Did the lower rad hose go to the driver's side or the passenger side? I've been told that it should go to the driver's side. Mine goes to the pass. side but the motor is a '76. I also have power steering and it looks like it would be a tight fit to get a lower rad hose out that side.  :dunno:
Same question for the top rad hose. Looking at pics on the site it's a 50/50 split as far as I can tell. Did they come both ways from the factory? :dunno:
May be getting a new rad and was wondering where the outlet/inlet were 'supposed' to be.

Mine has the top hose on the passenger's side and bottom on the driver's side. There were a few different radiators used back then, so maybe you can do a search on the part number to see the applications.

Regarding my original '956' radiator. My 1970 R/T SE came with ps, the A36 (3.55) Performance Axle Package (which added the factory cooler to the steering pump assembly).

Lower hose always on the drivers side on the E-body.
Top hose could be either side depending on engine size, HD options etc.
They cool better with the top hose on the passenger side.

All of the 400s and late model 440s had the water pump inlet on the passenger side (lower hose).   Roppa440 is right about e-body big blocks. Lower hose is always on the driver's side.

Mine also that the A36 Hemi radiator. Top hose on the passenger side, with or without A/C.
