Lousy weather!
« on: February 01, 2011 - 03:57:57 PM »
Can you believe this lousy weather...I actually had to scrape some frost off my windsheild this morning and it is so cold I have to wear a sweater when I go outside to look at the Crocuses coming up!

Actually, I hope you all are coping with the stupid weather in the east!  Stay safe and warm.

Blizzard warning here in Michigan.  1 1/2 to 2 ft of snow expected!   Alot of placed are closed down tomorrow . . my woman is currently on the outskirts of Chicago trying to come home . . . but having issues with traffic.  I hope they don't decide to close the X-Way like they have done so many times in the past.   :nono:

Hey Burnt! Which one of the 5 days a year that it doesn't rain in Van was this? Is it true that most newborns in BC/Van have webbed feet? Just teasing ya- Been to Van and it's a beautiful town, but that 225" of rain per year is just too much for a southwestern Ontario boy. Enjoy! :violin:

The weather really is lousy here in central Illinois tonight. We're expecting 15 to 20 more inches of snow and 40 mph winds. It is pretty much a white out right now. It was a mess coming home from work. I use to live in the U.P. of Michigan so I can handle the snow, but this wind across the wide open "corn desert" adds up to some bigtime drifting. Time to get the snow machine out....yippee.

Looks like I picked the right weekend to drive from Nebraska to Illinois. Wonder if the moving truck will crash?

Yes, kind of cold here. The cool Santa Ana winds kept the temperature today down to only 64 degrees F. And 44 degrees for the morning minimum. :(

Really cold here too. Had to put on a long-sleeve shirt when my wife and I trimmed the hibiscus.

So, the moving truck was trying to back one of the 26' sections into the drive.  Didn't ask us about the ditch across the way until he fell in.  Tried to pull with the family truckster, but to no avail.

Weird, up here in north western Ontario we didn't get any snow lately and it is above freezing, and melting some.

I'm in the southwest corner of New Mexico, 30 miles from the Mexican border. A couple of nights ago it got down to -7 degrees! All the schools were shut down Thursday and Friday and I just found out that there is no school Monday either due to broken water pipes (most of the schools are heated with boilers). I went into the local True Value hardware store Thursday and it was packed with people buying plumbing supplies. A friend of mine who works there said he had people actually fighting over the electric space heaters on Wednesday. To steal a famous Cuda Guy quote, this is just crazy!
