Any big difference in seat covers? PUI, Legendary, or PG?
« on: January 18, 2011 - 12:12:08 PM »
The prices vary greatly, so I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with PG Classic?

They seem to be about half the price of Legendary and PUI.   I've always used Legendary, but the prices are pretty steep.  I was waiting for a sale, but need to get them going.....

A buddy of mine has used PGC for a few projects, mostly because he's cheap. They look ok but are not as nice as Legendary.

I used PG, not unhappy by any means.

Thanks!  Now I just need Legendary to run a sale!  Anyone got a code or something?

I priced these 1971 Challenger convertible deluxe seat covers yesterday. With our Year One 20% discount, my price came to $491.  Legendary prices for the same interior was $533 without any discount at all.    Too bad Legendary doesn't give this Cuda-Challenger group a discount like our big vendors do.

Year One sells PU(I), which I have yet to see a set that looked anywhere near as good as the Legendary covers when installed.  PUI sets usually have extra material that has to be trimmed, and the seems don't look as crisp as the Legendary sets.  Every interior guy I have talked to has said Legendary is the best out there, and that is what has gone in to 3 of our cars.

It sounds like it is best to buy Legendary seat covers from a vendor.  Any other recommendations other than Year One (I'm not a big fan)?  What about seat foam?  I have the original seat covers so I'm thinking I need seat foam for the front buckets---- right?

Is $530 a fair price for installation of the covers & foam for the front and rear seats?  Don't really want to ship them anywhere given the added cost.

The last set I got was through Dante's http://www.dantesparts.com/ .  He did have a sale going at the time, but that was almost a year ago.

$540 is not a bad price for the seat cover install, but might be a little bit high.  I paid $150 each to get my front seats done a couple years ago.  However, if you are familiar with the shop and they do good work, then it's probably worth it.
