power booster question......
« on: February 04, 2011 - 09:24:37 PM »
I have a 71 Challenger with power drum front brakes.  I am switching to a disc brake setup. My question is, do I have to use the disc brake power booster or can I use the power booster that the drum brakes were using? Are they the same or different? How about the prop valve?

Same booster will work. adjust the rod to just barely touch the master cylinder when tightened down.

Prop valve IS different. It would be easiest to get a combo valve for a 72-up Mopar. I don't have the part # handy, but you can find them at the brake dealers' websites or fleebay.

I actually kept the prop valve from the 73 that I parted. Money ahead.
