    i remember that Cuda's were about 3-400 more than Challengers base price. Challengers weighed 200 plus more. Dodge had a stronger ad campaign then. Remember that 3000 to 4000 was like 10,000 to 14,000 today (hypothetically) The others are a whole story of their own, but probably similiar. The Chevelle was one of the best sellers then.

    best selling muscle cars all around 80,000unites  mid 60's goat, 69 Roadrunner , late 60's chevell     a 250/307 chevell is not a muscle car all roadrunners and goats are (lemans and satilites were the base cars)

    I was just a shot in the sheet back then but my guess is that it's probably because they were being bought by cash strapped kids with insurance to deal with.   When my Dad bought his '67 GTO he told the insurance agent it was a Lemans and paid far less insurance premiums.   hehehe

    at the peach they only amounted to 10 % of sales and the number one car in the us today is a

    1 ford f150
    2 chevy silverado
    3 dodge 1500
    4 fill in japan here
