Well when I yanked out my interior everything was good until I looked up. Thats when I noticed something odd, shined a light on it and thats when I saw that it wasn't an inner brace but some cardboard and bondo spray painted black to look like one! So after i removed that the brace behind it was mangled.
So here's the damage to the brace that runs just above the passenger door. Sail panel bracing was unscathed.
Here is the section behind the A pillar.
And here is another damaged section above the front window on the passenger side.
Honestly it looks like they ran it into a garage door or something, of course they covered the damage from the outside with some fiberglass filler and the vinyl top.
I guess thats the repair quality you can expect from someone who spends more on the tires, rims, and stereo then on the rest of the car! The problem that I have is the car is a california desert car. So there really is no rust with the exception of some surface rust, most of which has formed in my humid garage at that. I know that to replace the roof skin I would need new quarters so thats out of the question, no reason to replace rust and dent free quarters. The other problem is finding the replacement parts for the inner braces becuase I have no idea what they are called. Anyone out there know? Any advise would be aprreciated.
