Can anyone recommend a good book on Barracudas and Challengers?

I just read Borders books filed for bankrupcy and I have a gift card I need to use before it`s too late.Can anyone recomend a good book? Something maybe about the history of the Barracuda/Challenger or a good restoration guide.Thanks

As far as light reading or "resto"?  As far as detailed stuff the ones from Paul Herd and Jim Schild are good, they have little mistakes here and there but nice detail about each car.  At least the one from Herd calls itself a aresto book but I see it more as a detailed history book, definately good for checking accuracy here and there, but again, sometimes it has mistakes.  The second one is a hard cover as opposed to the first, but check out the used price of the second one, $200!!!!

I`m open to either a resto or light reading type of book probably leaning more towards a resto type though.I was hoping to spend around $25-$50 bucks, for $200.00 that would be money spent on actual parts!Thanks for the suggestions.

I actually have the hardcover edition of the second book. It's a great book. I bought it new a few years ago, but I know I didn't pay $200+ for it. Why in the world is it so expensive now?

$200 is actually a little lower than I've seen that book listed for recently.  I paid $35 plus shipping from the UK for mine 7-8 months ago.  Copies in the US were already pushing $200 then.  Nuts!  Its a great book but not worth the $300 plus I've seen it listed for recently.

Guess it doesn`t matter if it`s parts or a book if it has anything at all to do with an E-body it`s going for top dollar!

At Borders I think these are going to be the best you'll find as far as E-body info.  You aren't going to find a '70 Service manual there or anything. 

A couple other authors are Genat and Mueller, but I don't think they go into as much detail as the other 2 books above.  You might be hard pressed to find either one there but you never know what you might find. 

Around Thanksgiving I was in a Chicago Borders that was closing (I think it was Borders.  ) and I found a real ice Ferrari buyers guide from the Ferrari Life forum.  Real nice for the "cheap Ferraris", like $20k-$60k versions.  Never saw it before but it was at Borders.

It will depend on how much the gift voucher is worth, you just might have to go down and have a look, maybe a How to ... performance upgrade book, better get something instead of a "sorry" we no longer honour vouchers.

Check out the Borders web site, they have the Schild book for $25.  Just seach the site for "Challenger" or "Barracuda" and you come up with a few options.
