need pic of 440 oilpan on K-member
« on: February 21, 2011 - 09:56:03 AM »
There`s this guy selling a 440 oilpan overhere.  It looks pretty much the same as the one that came in my car.  The "dent" is  a bit longer and the pan is a bit deeper than mine.  No idea if it will clear the K-frame properly... my guess is it will but I cannot remember how much room there is between the 2...   I`d like to see some pics of a 440 in an e-body, taken from below  :picture:
thanks  :2thumbs:

thank you very much Mike  :2thumbs:
I`m not sure what my old beat up oilpan originally came out of, but it worked and it looks like the one for sale will work just fine.

Tcat, when the car is on the ground, how close is the center link to your pan?

Just so you know, My 440 oil pan for my truck is 6" deep.
My 440 for ebody is 3" deep.

Those numbers are close, not exact.

Mine is about 3/8" away. I have no idea if my pan is stock or not as it came in the car when I bought it.
( 440/727) I was interested in this post as I'm switching to the firm feel fast ratio arms and was wondering about clearance on the Milodon BB road race pan.

You should be good with the road race pan, mine hits at full lock, but I have the stock pitman and idler on my car.

Do you have the RR pan? Where does it hit? The top of the center link /bottom of the oil pan or the pitman /idler ars hitting the side of the pan?

The center link hits the back of the pan where the drain plug is. Only at full lock. I'm not going to worry about it.

Thanks for the reply! I guess with the firm feel arms it should be a non-issue then.
