six pack question
« on: March 07, 2011 - 11:43:46 AM »
I was given a small block 6 pack intake today without carbs that I'm going to put on my 340 when I finish building it. I looked on the Holley site and they have 2 that are for a 340, one is 300 cfm and the other is 500ish. They both said they were for auto transmissions. I have a 4 speed so I don't know if they'll even work, but if they will, which cfm should I be looking at?
Originally I was going to use a stock 4 bbl TQ, but since this thing fell into my lap I might as well use it, even if it is a pain to tune

1972 Dodge Charger 318 auto

1973 Plymouth Duster 340/auto (Making it Panther Pink for the wife)
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid (It doesn't save gas, it just diverts it to the Cuda/Challenger)

the center carb is 350 cfm the outboard carbs are 500 cfm,,on the holley site,,,, your looking at one carb not all 3 together
you will need one center carb at 350 cfm and two outboards which are 500 cfm apiece and they will work on a 4 spd as i have them on mine  and the ones u need are two of these PART #: 0-4790 for outboards and the center carb is PART #: 0-4792
those are the ones for a 340
and there higher to buy on that site,,even ebay has them cheaper here

there might be a site sponsor on here that could get you a deal

Thanks. I wasn't too sure how it all worked. I guess I'll start shopping around for the best price

you will need this also
http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?input=six+pack&SM=1&SC=&goBtn.x=11&goBtn.y=9
it has the linkage and fuel lines for the carbs and other stuff like a new throttle cable as it is a different length

Art @ 6 Pack Performance in New Mexico is a good source as well
the auto carb can be made to work , it is just different specs in the carb , it can be set up to work with minor adjustments
