Hemi,

I'd buy it for that price for sure but he's asking 27,500 and didn't seem overly flexible when I talked to him about it.  He said if he didn't get a decent amount, he'd just keep it.

I felt after seeing the car the price was on the high side.

Mopar Rob
No one mentioned the vin tag. get the vin numbers and check them on  http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=31 .
RARE ride w/340  having Rallye gages, power disc brakes, 4 speed manual floor shift, Anti-sway bars front and rear.
Are they Canadian tags. check the floor pans. Pop the rear seat to view floor pans.
Looks like the vinyl top over shadows the the other issues, since the owner replaced it.  Dash pad  big bucks, grille big bucks,  If the interior headliner and seats are not worn or torn, point in your favor, Look at the frame rails where the front bumper mounts. Bumper is off set.
Whole front don't look right in the pic.  How old are the BF Goodrich? They are only good for 4 years, tend to rot and ply separation.
if u are still interested in it. When were brake shoes replaced, check for rear axle seal leaks.
Get it on a lift to check underside. Looks like new brake tubing in pic.
Check tires for uneven tread wear. Did u check the exhaust for smoke, Let it idol for 5 minuted then rev the engine.
U can tell by the engine compartment as to how well it was maintained.  Lot of guys keep the exterior looking good but the engine compartment is
crap. Or find one with out vinyl top.

  • I love YaBB 1 Gold!
I think you can do a lot better than that for that kind of money.  I think closer to 14-16k.  Has newer 4 speed pedals in it so have to assume it was an auto from the factory.

Hello Rob
Seems like you might get into the same boat I got into when I purchased my 1971 Challenger RT. It looked nice from 15 feet away with it recent paint job and needed a little work to make it into a driver. My car originally had the vinyl top and I wanted removed.  I went to a local body shop to have it removed while they worked on getting the tweek on the driver's quarter panel out which the pervious powner didnt do a good job before he painted the car. When the body shop worker removed the vinyl  top  the rust was exposed near the front windshield and the rear window channel. Kind of broke my heart but also was relief when they told me they can cut it out and wont be noticeable when it was finished at this point I instructed them to just tear it down to every nut and bolt and do a total restoration so i wont have any surprises. Well the surprises came when I tried to replace the stuff they couldnt restore to my likings or satisfation which is close to perfection. Like the Grill ..isnt reproduce at this time luckly I found a complete used one with nothing broken for $500 if you are lucky you might get a nice one for $2000. I think today alot of stuff is being reproduce so you might be luckier then I was 10 years ago. Well let me get to the point that I have invested over 40K my car and I am still not done with it. so it might be better to just get a car to your taste and save your money on a already restored car so you can drive it the next day because restorations are very expensive.
