Vent cable routing
« on: March 16, 2011 - 05:42:39 PM »
Now that i found my clip i need to know how the cable routes.  On the driver side does the cable go up and over the frame work for steering column up against the bottom of the cowl?   or does it come up and under the column?   Seems like it would have a hell of a kink if it goes under....

That picture helps for for my car too. Another question. I'm putting factory air in my non-ac car. The left vent shown in your picture was originally cable actuated but now that I have the AC unit, the heater/ac box is fully vacuum actuated. On an AC car, is the left vent still cable actuated or is there a different vacuum unit?

Thanks.

That's a good question.  I guess I never really thought about it.  I assume the factory A/C cars still have the two vent cables in the center of the dash.  When I assume things, I'm usually wrong though.

I think there are some pictures of A/C heater boxes on this site.  You should be able to see if there is a cable operated air door on them.   :dunno:
