    this decal, description and picture were as accurate as I could get.  I don't know what you expected to get for a couple of dollars.  I suppose the "purists" and naysayers will always find something to complain about. (The lettering on my column was either a decal or painted on, no metal backing). Sorry for causing any angst or disappointment.

    Ah ha! That explains why mine, and I suspect a lot of other originals, was completely missing. The adhesive failed and the whole damn thing plate just popped off. :-)

    thanks for that update.  probably lost mine before I obtained the car.  someone had just reattached the decal.   I have about 8 decas left if anyone's interested.
