Starter applications
« on: March 25, 2011 - 10:19:27 PM »
Looking for an excuse to buy a new high torque mini starter I tried to convince myself that the starter from my 340 would not fit my 440. After looking in my parts book I think I failed.  Will the 340 starter fit the 440?  If so what other reason can I use to justify buying a mini since I'm not running headers?  PK

just go to the parts house and get one for a 92 318 truck. And there you go. Rebuilt mini starter at a low cost price. I've done it a few times for myself and friends.

Al, an interesting suggestion.  What is different about the 92 318 truck starter?  PK

I just know it's a mini high torque starter and always worked for me. An old race friend talked me in to it one day when I mentioned I was going to buy a new  race starter.

Weight is about 1/5 that of the original style starter
