HELP!!! Clicking noise!!!

Hello everyone, i'm new here.. i'll make this as short and sweet as possible.   I have a 1970 RT/SE Challenger.  And when the car is rolling, i hear this clicking noise from what sounds to be the drivers side rear.  it's a for sure rotation click.  SO, I replaced rear breaks, springs, and self adjuster... and the clicking is STILL there.  Any ideas?   Thanks everyone!


REVISED:   OK, thanks for EVERYONES replys and help.   So, i replaced all break springs and self adjusters, I then replaced old bearings with new MOPAR performances sealed bearings.  Put the tires on, rolled down the road... AND IT STILL FRIGGIN' CLICKS!!!!!   yes, my hair is all pulled out.  So, i guess what's left is to pull the 3ed member?   Or replace U-joints?  *sigh*  well, at least it's got some fresh stuff now.

Would it be something simple like a rock in the tire tread? Maybe jack up the rear and spin the wheels and see if you can narrow it down some? Wheel bearing? Sure grip?

Check the U-joints too, I've had one that seemed to be louder on one side than the other. Does it change on accel or decel?

    just had the same problem with my friend`s chevy van.  Both forward and backwards clicking noise when rolling.  I could feel it snap in the driveshaft too.  Turned out to be the rear joint.

Block the front tires and jack the back of the car up.  Set the car down on some quality jack stands and start the engine.  Put the car in gear and see if you can track down exactly where the noise is comming from.  You could also remove the wheels and drums just to take those items out of the equation.  I shouldn't have to say this but just so I feel better I'm going to.  DO NOT crawl under the car while it's in gear.  I don't want you getting caught in the spinning driveshaft.

I had a 95 Dakota that had a squeeking noise only when I went in reverse.  It got worse and worse until it started doing it while going forward.  It ended up being the outer wheel bearing.  If the noise is still there when the wheel and drum are removed, pull the DS axle and check the bearing.

check the end play on the diff / axles , could be a loose endplay making the brgs noisy

OK everyone!  Thank you for your ideas!  On my next weekend I'll start with the easiest ideas you had,then go from there.   Someone asked if the noise was on acel or decel.. it's both.   Also, when rolling REALLY slow.. the click has a ... "washboard" sounding click... if that makes sense?    Well, i'll write back after i try some of these sugestions.  thanks guys!

Neil's suggestion sounds close. You may have wiped out a race. If these are the original taperd bearings, they are packed with grease and get no oil lube from the rearend. If you were out of adjustment, and very loose, it could make that washboard sound.

I know this is completely different than what others are saying. I had a clicking noise last time I took my car out, from the drivers side. I could really hear it when I was driving next to a curb on the road. It was my front drivers side tire, it blew out shortly after noticing the noise. Replaced the tire, no more clicking noise. Just a different idea before pulling the car apart, it might be something simple.
