Door boot?
« on: September 13, 2011 - 02:38:41 PM »
I'm running audio cable into the door and need a couple of ?boots/plugs?  Here's what I'm talking about:

The orange circle shows a boot/plug (to be mounted on the body of the car) and a bit of rubber tubing (should run between the body and the hinge-side of the door).

Problem is, I'm not getting any results for my searchings looking for some generic ones to buy.  What is the magic word that these are called?

Thanks!

I would hit the wreckers , most new cars have protectors for the door wiring

I used them from Ford Ranger. They only have them in the driver's door, so you'll have to find two. They're bigger than what you shared (closer to 2"), but you'll have plenty of space for power lock or window wiring as well.

BTW, I bought some off eBay before I bouth these. They were junk...way too hard.

Thanks.  I was looking for something that covered/insulated/protected the cable between the door, but grommets work just fine.
