Lots of memories there.   :grinyes:

I haven't heard that Bob Seger song in a couple of decades or more.

Now Detroit is home for Eminem??   :22yikes:

We went to the Cobo Auto show a couple of years ago and took a cab to Mexican town for some grub that night. Should have known by the guard out side  watching the cars, that things ain't what they used to be in Detroit, but when we came out and were going to go to another bar 300yds away, the guard told us whiteboys, that we should take a cab there as well. We just cabbed it back to the hotel and wondered about the fact that the bombed out old wreck with SO much history, had become so dangerous that you couldn't walk less than a 1/4 mile because of the colour of your skin. I'm not trying to be racist here and apologize if it seems so, but Henry Ford, the Dodge boys and Billy Durant must be spinning in their graves to see what the brothers have reduced inner Detroit to.  :'(

Nah, you don't have to worry about that! Apparently the suburbs (Ann Arbor etc.) have the highest population of muslims in north america. The malls were full of slaves, I mean women, wearing their burkas and niqabs, just like Papa Omar told them to. So much for the "melting pot", eh?  :'(

I think it would have been fitting if they had included the attached pic in this promo, after all, it was these guys who did all of the labor to put these cars together in the first place.

The urban legend (not sure if there's any truth to it) is that Henry Ford was the one who named Inkster (a Detroit suburb) because of the high number of blacks living there, so Henry's not necessarily a good role model on race relations.

One thing that always amazes me about cities (and I loathe cities with a passion) is how in denial a lot of people are about the conditions there. Back when I lived in Wayne, a friend lived in Berkeley. There was a murder near her, and when I asked if she was worried she said "No, that's two blocks away." I said "A criminal doesn't even need a car to cover two blocks."

"She'll make point five past light speed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, and I've made a lot of special modifications myself."
