1971 Barracuda
« on: April 30, 2011 - 09:11:06 PM »
This car was listed on Waterloo, IA Craigslist for $8,000 - I called on it but was too late.  Since then, it has acquired a spoiler and bill boards.  The original seller said the car had new quarters and paint about 20 years ago.  It's a bit of a cobbled mess but I would have turned it into a driver but the price is much too high now!

We have looked at some of the cars at this dealer before and I'm always amazed they can sell any of their cars.

Sure looks like a 1970 to me?  :clueless:   It was or is on E-Bay too.

It's got a 71 tail panel and a 70 grille.  Maybe it's a 70 1/2!!!   :smilielol:

The car is about an hour and a half from me so I drove over to look at it.  It's marked "sold to Messrahr Motor Cars".

It's a 71 with a 70 front clip - solid underneath but bondo in front fender dog legs and up by headlights.  Grill cracked, front valance banged up badly, looks like JC Whitney half quarters installed but bondo still showing.  Seam between rear valance and quarters full of bondo.  Bondo in other areas - needs a lot of work.  I'd say the car is worth about $5k.

$18,995, WOW, is that guy smoking it.  What is up with the front valance?  Holes in the tranny cross member.  Some poor sap will think they did great when they buy it for 14k....
