Do it just like the factory did it.
Once you get it home, get the fuel/brake lines installed as well as the fuel tank. Get the booster/master installed along with the prop valve. Install the heater box and all of the weatherstripping. Run the wiring throughout the car and install the headliner. If the bodyshop didn't spray the rad support blackout, do that before anything is installed in that area.
Install all the engine compartment assessories while the engine is out. There is alot more room to work that way. Install the splash shields and undercoat the wheelwells.
Finish the bigger components as complete assemblies. Assemble the dash and install it all in one piece. Completely assemble the rear end housing along with the springs. Roll the whole assembly under the car and bolt it up.
The front suspension can be rebuilt and installed on the K-member. Once the engine and trans are done, bolt them up to the K as well. Using a cherrypicker, lift the whole front of the car up in the air to install the engine/trans/K-member all at once from the bottom.
Finish with the rest of the interior/exterior trim and lastly install the front/back glass.
There is no right or wrong way to do it. Check out RestoRick's website for a really good assembly checklist.
