Steering problem
« on: May 22, 2011 - 10:23:49 PM »
I messed up something putting my front end back together, noticed my left turn radius was kind of wide, to the right it's fine, so today i clocked the wheel, I get 2&1/4 turns on the steering wheel to the right & only 1 1/2 to the left, what did I do wrong, I thought the pitman arm could only go one way?
Will this mean I have to get it all aligned again? feelin kinda dumb :-[  Rich.

I just installed the fast ratio pitman/idler arms from firm feel. I looked at my old pitman arm and it has 4 "master splines" so it could be installed 90 degs out. Jack up the front end then try centering your steering box then remove the pitman arm and install so the wheels are straight. I would think you would not need another alignment.
