Frame ties
« on: June 05, 2002 - 02:20:47 PM »
I'm going for the sleeper look in my restifcation.I just finished tieing the uni-bodies together, but I've done it differently than normal.I cut my rocker panels off, welded in 2"x3" tubing to the trans cross member at the front and at the back I tied into the frame rail from the side the near the spring perch location, once the boxed in spring perch plates & rocker panels were reinstalled you can't even tell that it is tied together.Has anyone else tried this?I'm hoping it is just as strong as going thru the floor pans.

Now that I have the frame connectors done. After I drop the monster elephant in,should I cage it or not?I was thinking of going with a 12 point.I have 6 tracks within a 3 hour drive that I can go to,since I will probably getting kicked off at each one, until I do cage it.I really don't want to because its going to be a real sleeper. But I don't want to set at home while my Chevy,Ford,Pontiac & Oldsmobile buddies are out ripping up the track.Plus we all have a major waiver on the line here, but I'm going to kick all of the A$$e$.
