Trying to locate Dad's old Cuda (1970 Barracuda 440-6pack)
« on: May 15, 2011 - 02:17:08 AM »
My Dad purchased his 1970 Barracuda as a new car in Indiana (I think it was Indiana) and it originally came with a 4 speed transmission in it. It was the rust red type of color and had the black stripe down the sides. It didn't say "440" on the stripe (unless it originally did but he took it off at some point and replaced it with a plain black stripe... I'm not sure but can ask my Dad).

He eventually replaced the transmission with an automatic, had the rear wheel wells widened to accomodate wider tires, his original license plate when we moved to Corona California in 1973 was "MOPAR3".

In my last attempt to find the car, I learned that about 6-9 years ago it belonged to Ian Zeiring, the guy who played "Steve" in the original "Beverly Hills 90210" show. I know this because Ian was dating a girl who worked at my office (coincidently) and she asked him about it for me. He confirmed that he owned it previously but that he sold it to someone who took the car to Florida and he refused to share who he sold it to... so the trail went cold.

I have the VIN number and can ask my Dad about the car, he still remembers quite a bit. What can I say... I always hoped one day I'd end up with that car. I still remember the day Dad sold it when I was 14 yrs old as though it was only yesterday, I'm 41 yrs old now.

Thanks guys...

Jeff

That guy is a dickhead.
He doesn't understand family heirlooms what they mean to other family members.

Check wth Barry Washington's Registry. If you have the vin there is a good chance of finding it.

Is this the color that you are refering to? Here is a sample picture.

Any idea if it came here to South Florida?

I know of many...
