moparmatt,
too bad your not closer, we could have a blast looking thru this junk yard.
I have not found an ebody yet, but I did find 2 833 ebody 4 speeds, a 72 cuda fender and a 71 cuda flat hood. So I know there was a couple cudas in there at one time. I know I have not seen all the cars yet in 3 trips there. I am anxious for the water to go down this summer and see what is in the 3 ponds that are there.
I guess I need to start removing any parts that are good from all the mopars and list them on ebay.
There must be over a dozen 71-74 satellites and roadrunners in there. They are all over the place.
the old signet convertible is quite restorable. It must be in the  mid sixties maybe 62-64. anybody know what year they made them? Is that a valiant? It was missing the drivers seat, but I found it in a dump truck a little ways away.
All of these mopars could be restored. 5 years ago you would not do it, but with prices the way they are becoming, now these cars are worth the effort.

I am going back saturday to get the 67 mustang fastback to make an Elanor clone for my 13 year old son. We will have 3 years to finish it. Also found a 69 mustang Mach I fastback, 4 speed car.
It will be nice to work on something with resonable parts prices.

b5, gotta love those junkyard runs.shotly after buying our cuda i met acouple of local e-body guys that told me of a yard in southern ind.they had'nt been in a couple of years but he had several e-bodys.I knew I had to go befor I had back surgery,         so we loaded the generator, sawzall,& what tools we might need and made the 3 1/2 hr drive. them boys was'nt kidden. when we finally found it,there were no less than 20 e-bods 70-73,10 71-74 chargers/satilites,5/6 68-70 b-bods,only seen 4 67-69 a-body cudas, same for dusters. the day was not a total loss, did bring home a few    parts.
it's to bad that most everything had been picked clean, all but the a-body cudas. what body parts were left were not worth bringing home.but it was fun anyway.we do make a few road trips when we can $$, looking behind barns, garages, in the horse lots, for those I'm gona restore it, i'ts not for sale cars!! just to let you know you're not the only one!!

70sassy, glad to know others enjoy the treasure hunt also.
I really get a kick out of hoping around each bend will be the last remaining 71 hemi cuda convertible. My wife thinks Im nuts. But I even carry money in my wallet in case we see one just drug out of a barn
I assume your car is sassy grass, heres a pic of our junkyard sassy grass car, love that color

ghost, I will take pics of the later satellites and runners this weekend while I am there.
I did post a couple pics of one or two of them in earlier posts further down this forum.
these years cars seem to be more intact and some may be intact.

Back when I was younger I used to love junkyarding looking for cars and parts.I used to work second shift and would get up early and find a different yard every week. There was one a couple hours away in Mass. that had a whole row of e-bodys,mostly salvagable by todays standards.I wanted to buy the white AAR with blue interior they had but didin`t have the money or a place to put it at the time. The car had a roll bar installed and the engine bay and dash were burned but it was fairly complete, I still dream about having it and restoring it.Unfortunatly there are very few yards around here with anything old and no e-bodys,only a`s and a couple b-bodies.

you should go back to that junk yard and see if the ebodies are still there

I got another interesting tip at AutoZone this week.
I got to talking with guy behind the counter cause he saw I was interested in mopars. (bought a mopar muscle mag)
anyway, after some talk he says that when he was younger (which was only about 10 yrs ago) down by a pond near his house there is an old trailer and inside the trailer were 3 (yes count them) three 426 hemi engines.
He told me where it was and I am going to try and check it out.
you never know

I could search junkyards all day (hmm wait, I do) :driving:

Torred,
I just restored a basket case aar 2 yrs ago. numbers matching 4 spd.Hence my handle b5blueaar. I found that rare numbers cars were kind of a pain to own. You dont want to do much with them, so I sold it to a collector in oklahoma and i just have fun with the 74 that my son and I did together and I am doing a rotisserie on a 71, 4spd 440.
Spent most of the day in my favorite junk yard today with my 13 year old sun.  We got a lot of the 67 mustang parts out. Long carry, over 1/4 mile. doors get heavy.
walk past the 69 charger 440 6pack car every trip. I really should drag that car home.

I took the usual tenderloin sandwichs to the yard owner and his wife. They sure appreciate that.
He is 88 and cant walk very far, she is 80 something, also cant walk much and I learned she is from poland. was there for the german occupation and the russion occupation. Very nice woman. Does not speak english very well. They cant even change the light bulbs in their little hut they use for an office. They asked me to change the burned out light bulbs for them.
I enjoy talking to them a lot. Very unique people.
He told me they have all the titles to all the cars that have passed thru that junk yard the last 60 years. 1000's of titles in boxes in two different locations. I hope to be able to go thru the titles some time and see whats there. He said the boxes fill two rooms.
Cant wait for the water to dry up to see whats in the bottom of the flooded areas.
I just know there is a hemi cuda in there somewhere.

I would love to spend the day there but a little too far away.As soon as the weather breaks I have a couple yards that have a couple old cars I can pick over.I would still like an AAR as I have my 72 Barracuda as my fun driver.

Hey b5blueaar when your done picking over that boneyard would you mind telling me where it's at ? I'm in Northern IL and would love to take a trip down there to see what they have. Heck I wouldn't even mind dragging something home with me if possible. Let me know thanks.
