Two Holley Questions?
« on: June 11, 2011 - 12:52:55 AM »
Does anyone now if the newer Holley carbs come standard with reuseable gaskets????? I do not want to pull it a part and have to buy new bowl gaskets.

Also, I unbolted my carb and it rocks abit on the intake. I suspect the baseplate is warped a little, which I assume is bad, or is a little wobble normal????

Thanks,

Jason

Check the linkages for clearance issues , maybe causing the rocking. Make sure the butterflyies open without hitting too. I had the choke linkage rubbing on the intake, two seconds with a airgrinder/carbide burr and all was good to go.
The reuseable gaskets for Holley's I've seen are blue or red.
Also check acellerator pumps and linkages for clearance too.

Thanks brad...yeah I will have to take a close look at everything on the new intake.

I think the carb base may be warped though.  It does not wobble a lot, but its noticible.

On the gaskets, I can see the blue gasket on the float bowls, so maybe....
