Main Girdles

There are a few threads on main girdles, but wondering why I would want to go with a girdle vs the billet caps and girdle combination. 
I am getting ready to upgrade my cam from a 504" hydraulic to a something around a 600" roller as well as getting the heads ported to flow somewhere around 350 cfm (currently 276 @ .600").  Going in a 520" RB that is kind of choked right now.  I figured that if it is necessary, I might as well get the bottom end strengthened up a little.

the girdle will increase the bottem end stength , the`stock block without a girdle should take 600 HP THE CAPS MAY BE OVERKILL BUT COULD NOT HURT THE COMBO ..........friggin caps lock !!!

I asked Hughes what windage tray they would run with the girdle and 4.375" stroke and they said that they would not and the girdle acts somewhat like a scraper.  Any suggestions here?  I was thinking that I could run a 4.15" stroke windage tray on a 4.375" stroke with the 1/4" plate?  Is a windage tray necessary, or should I say is there a gain from running one?

I went with the billet caps and girdle from 440 source.  If it was my money I would do it again.  Your already spending money might as well get the peace of mind that comes with a solid bottom end. 

With 520 cid and heads that flow 350@600  you are most likely going to be pushing well over 600 hp.  Good luck with what ever you decide.

Thanks Don and Jason, I have the girdle and just wondering which windage tray I should run.  There are 4.15" stroker trays and 4.5" stroker trays (that I have sound so far).  My thought is that if I am running a 4.375" stroke minus .25" for the girdle, then that would be like a 4.12" stroke that the pan would see???  So with that in mind, would a 4.15" tray work?
