Doug - I need the drivers side    I m at   a car show  and all of a sudden can't  get the door to unlatch     this happened a few months ago so took it apart & cleaned it up - soaked it in mineral spirits.   Lubed it up and had it working fine      frustrating,,,,,,,

Sorry about that :drunk:
Is this on your 70?Because if I am correct 70 door locks you need to use the key to lock the door?is the lever that goes to the key slot dropping down?try using the key and lock it and unlock it and see if that works :2cents:

Doug - yes, my '70.   It's not the locking mechanism (or I don't think so).....  When the doors are locked you can't pull the handles very far -- mine go all the way and the "hook" just isn't releasing.   I don't know if there is a spring inside the mechanism that is weak or what -- but the mechanism isn't releasing.....   Last time I had to work with a long screwdriver to mannually move the "dog ears" over and finally got it to release (haven't had time yet since I got home)......
