Who makes a good Copper Radiator?
« on: June 23, 2011 - 06:56:16 AM »
I was thinking about going to an aluminum radiator, but I think I'd rather go with copper. Anybody know who makes one?
THANKS!

Glen Ray Radiators makes an OEM reproduction. Not cheap though.

If you have the correct tanks a capable radiator shop can re-core for about the same money as the reproduction radiators.  I'm told that the best cores are out of Vancouver, BC.  They are brass
and will be better than the OEM cores.  PK

Glennster,
Take a look at this link: http://www.gastanks.com/Barracuda/products/738/
I know the link says "Barracuda", but you know that radiators will interchange between Challengers and Baaracudas, so that's not an issue.  You used to be able to get Modine radiators for most of the E-bodies, but no more. Now you have to go repro. Hope this helps.

That's too bad about Modine.  :sadwavey: The radiator in mine is about 4 years old, it fits fine, looks like factory, with no problems. Paid around $300 at the time.

I don't have any experience with them but filed this company as having a good selection.
They appear to be In The Business of reproduction style radiators an prices aren't outrageous.

I still have my Modine small block 3 core.

Then my 969 that needs a complete rebuild. I'd sell the Modine but it's perfect and I won't let it go cheap. Was pressure checked last year and had a clean bill of health.

So make me an offer. The money is going toward re doing the 969.
