What does the group collectively think of dinner plans for Friday?

Usually we get pizza and sit around the hotel parking lot, but we filled our block of rooms MUCH quicker than I expected, so people are scattered a bit now.

I was thinking of finding a large parking lot or even a park pavilion to commandeer for the evening - there's a big shopping plaza in mechanicsburg that has a few restaurants in it and a huge parking space, but not sure if we'd be allowed to set up a tent or two and hang out.  There's a 5-Guys (awesome burger joint) there that I was going to see if they'd more-or-less cater for us.

Any thoughts?

By the way I'll be calling Your Place to set us up for the buffet on Saturday - seemed like most people liked that idea, and we have a BIG CROWD this year!

Can't wait to see everyone!

I'm easy, I'll go with the flow. Another restaurant or parking lot is fine with me!    Just a thought though... usually some partake in a few "beverages" and the motel parking lot is a good idea, so drinking and driving is not an issue?

I am open ... few places my son can eat (fudruckers, Five guys, Golden Coral, some places like texas road house, etc) due to food allergies.  we will do our best to bring food he can eat.

I'm game, I'll be walking across the street back to the Hotel if you do Friday at your hotel.

We need a way to communicate when we get there since we are across the street for caravans etc.

I'll have my cell w me so hopefully I can hook up with someone else at he main hotel for departure times etc.

I suggested that once but no one was interested.  For what it's worth though, if anyone wants my number I'll PM it to ya as A) it's a local number for Carlisle and B) I'm Events Coordinator for Carlisle to some extent.

I don't think you'll be across the proverbial street then - more like across the river!  We're going to be IN Mechanicsburg; it sounds like you're going to be closer to the old hotel.  (My wife is bummed about this, BTW - she was looking forward to sitting up chatting with Tina at night.  )

Unfortunately I really have NO idea how to solve this without making it a huge shindig (and thus a huge cost, and I'm flat out of money this year already...)  I'd love to do a catered party or something (Ash and I ALWAYS WANTED to have a house in the area that we could throw a party at) but it'd take a lot of time to put together and wouldn't be cheap...  I fear there's no choice but to do the pizza in the Mariott parking lot trick again and just try to cater to those who aren't staying at that hotel...

Maybe we can set up some rides from the satellite hotels and then have a cab or two on the standby for folks who've had a few to get back to their hotels?

I'm open to other ideas...  Pizza was always nice 'cause it's $8 per person, tops, and with the recent Pizza Hut deals, it dropped to $6 or so.

We'll go wherever, I'll drink diet soda.lol  It's about 4 miles from your hotel.  I thought that you guys were at the hotel by the Bob Evan's when I made the reservation..

No biggie, we'll be there.
