new windowsweeps... need some help
« on: July 01, 2011 - 01:27:47 PM »
hey gang,

I got my new windowsweeps / catwhiskers today.... ( damaged....  :stomp:  )  and I have fitment issues.   With the doorglass all the way up, the rubber doesnt touch the glass in the middle of the door.  At the front and the rear of the door it fits nice but there`s a gap in the middle.
My doorgaps are nice and the glass touches the roofrail weatherstrip nicely.  The catwhisker has a different rubber than the original. That had a U shape and this one has a lip up against the glass. Any wisdom on the subject?

I was told that all the wiskers should be installed before the glass is adjusted.  My guess is that there is some in and out adjustment for the glass.  Maybe it needs to be moved out more.  Then the top of the glass would need to be adjusted again.

I'm ready to install my side glass and I'm dreading the adjusting process.  I'll be keeping an eye on this post.  Good luck!

my problem is that at the front of the glass, the felt sits fine and at the rear also.  :clueless:   My guess is the original U-shaped felt would just lay against the glass and close that gap, where the new one`s lip is just too short.
there is not much to adjust at the underside of the glass when it`s up...
I just installed the passenger side, it sits better.
